The phrases

tataḥ saḥ vismaya-āviṣṭaḥ hṛṣṭa-romā dhanañjayaḥ (ततः सः विस्मय-आविष्टः हृष्ट-रोमा धनञ्जयः) is the man before the speech. Filled with wonder, hair standing, and the name is Dhanañjaya (धनञ्जय).

praṇamya śirasā devam kṛta-añjaliḥ abhāṣata (प्रणम्य शिरसा देवम् कृत-अञ्जलिः अभाषत) is the bow and then the word. Having bowed with his head to the god, palms joined, he spoke. The speech itself begins at 11.15.

Sanskrit in this line

saḥ (सः) before a consonant is recited sa (स), not so (सो). The pronoun is irregular. Other words in aḥ (अः) become o (ओ) before a voiced consonant: vismaya-āviṣṭaḥ (विस्मय-आविष्टः) is vismayāviṣṭo (विस्मयाविष्टो) before hṛṣṭa (हृष्ट). Do not give saḥ (सः) that o (ओ). कृत-अञ्जलिः + अभाषत kṛta-añjaliḥ + abhāṣata is kṛtāñjalir abhāṣata (कृताञ्जलिरभाषत): iḥ (इः) before a vowel becomes ir (इर्).

Say it back
