सर्वेन्द्रियगुणाभासं सर्वेन्द्रियविवर्जितम् ।
असक्तं सर्वभृच्चैव निर्गुणं गुणभोक्तृ च ॥

sarvendriyaguṇābhāsaṃ sarvendriyavivarjitam
asaktaṃ sarvabhṛc caiva nirguṇaṃ guṇabhoktṛ ca

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking, to Arjuna (अर्जुन). The verse has no finite verb. The adjectives still describe tat (तत्).

The verse

It shines as the qualities of all the senses and is free of all the senses, unattached and bearing all, free of the guṇas (गुण) and the experiencer of the guṇas (गुण).

नेपालीमा

त्यो सबै इन्द्रियका गुणझैँ चम्कन्छ र सबै इन्द्रियबाट मुक्त छ। त्यो आसक्तिरहित छ र सबै बोक्छ, गुणबाट मुक्त छ र गुण भोग्छ।

Where it sits

13.14 put hands and feet everywhere, and this verse says that presence shines as the senses, bears all, and is free of the senses and of the guṇa (गुण)s, with the description continuing through 13.18.

The phrases

sarvendriyaguṇābhāsaṃ sarvendriyavivarjitam (सर्वेन्द्रियगुणाभासं सर्वेन्द्रियविवर्जितम्) holds both sides of the senses. It shines as the qualities of every sense, and it is stripped of every sense. 13.14 had given it hands, eyes, and hearing. This line keeps the appearing and removes the organs.

asaktaṃ sarvabhṛt ca eva (असक्तं सर्वभृत् च एव) is unattached, and bearing all. सर्वभृत् + च + एव sarvabhṛt + ca + eva is recited sarvabhṛc caiva (सर्वभृच्चैव).

nirguṇaṃ guṇabhoktṛ ca (निर्गुणं गुणभोक्तृ च) is the pair the section is keeping. Free of the guṇa (गुण)s, and the experiencer of the guṇa (गुण)s. Both stay.

Sanskrit in this line

sarva-bhṛt (सर्व-भृत्) is a nominative with no visarga. The stem ends in a consonant, so the subject form is the stem itself. सर्वभृत् + च sarvabhṛt + ca is recited sarvabhṛc ca (सर्वभृच्च): t (त्) before c (च्) becomes c (च्). Then च + एव ca + eva becomes caiva (चैव), and the whole join is sarvabhṛc caiva (सर्वभृच्चैव). guṇa-bhoktṛ (गुण-भोक्तृ) also has no visarga. An ṛ (ऋ)-stem in the neuter nominative ends in ṛ (ऋ).

Say it back

Say both sides of the guṇa (गुण)s. If nirguṇam (निर्गुणम्) is dropped and only the experiencer remains, stay here.
