16.13

इदमद्य मया लब्धमिमं प्राप्स्ये मनोरथम् ।
इदमस्तीदमपि मे भविष्यति पुनर्धनम् ॥

idam adya mayā labdham imaṃ prāpsye manoratham
idam astīdam api me bhaviṣyati punar dhanam

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) begins the words they say to themselves, and iti (इति) has not closed them yet.

The verse

"This has been gained by me today, this wish I shall obtain, this is mine, and this wealth too shall be mine again."

नेपालीमा

आज मैले यो पाइसकें, यो चाहना म पाउनेछु, यो मेरो हो, र यो धन पनि फेरि मेरो हुनेछ।

Where it sits

The striving of 16.12 is now in the first person, the demonic mind speaking inside Kṛṣṇa's (कृष्ण) verse. The quotation stays open through 16.15.

The phrases

इदम् अद्य मया लब्धम् इमम् प्राप्स्ये मनस्-रथम् idam adya mayā labdham imam prāpsye manas-ratham is the first boast. This has been gained by me today. This wish I shall obtain. mayā (मया) is the agent of the participle, not a new subject.

इदम् अस्ति इदम् अपि मे भविष्यति पुनः धनम् idam asti idam api me bhaviṣyati punaḥ dhanam is the second. This is mine, and this wealth also will be mine again. Two idam (इदम्), two times. The first sits with asti (अस्ति). The second sits with bhaviṣyati (भविष्यति) and dhanam (धनम्).

Sanskrit in this line

पुनः + धनम् punaḥ + dhanam is recited punar dhanam (पुनर्धनम्). The word is punar (पुनर्). At a pause, and before a voiceless sound, you hear punaḥ (पुनः). Before the voiced dh (ध्), the r (र्) shows itself. This is not the o (ओ) of an ordinary nominative in --aḥ (अः).

Say it back

Cover the English. Say the gained thing, the wish, and the wealth that is still to come. If the three idam (इदम्) collapse into one prize, stay here.
