Śiva Sūtra / The third awakening
The third awakening
Summary
Sūtras (सूत्र) 3.1 to 3.45 are the third awakening. The self is the mind, after 1.1 had said the self is consciousness. Both sentences stay. Limited knowledge is bondage. Failure to discriminate is what these lines call māyā (माया). The self is the dancer, the inner self the stage, the senses the spectators. The universe is the expansion of his own power. The commentary calls this the means of the limited one. The close returns. The extra line Bhāskara (भास्कर) prints is named at 3.14 and is not sat.
