Adhyāya 2

Summary

Adhyāya (अध्याय) 2 is avirodha, non conflict. An objector says the teaching collides with reasoning or with another system. The sūtras (सूत्र) answer that collision. Sāṅkhya (साङ्ख्य)'s prakṛti (प्रकृति), the atom, and the Buddhist accounts of the person are among the views met here. The sūtra (सूत्र) does not become those other books. It says why, on its own reading, they do not break the concordance of book 1.
