I honor him, the best of speakers, the awakened one, who taught dependent arising: without cessation, without arising, without annihilation, without permanence, not one and not other, without coming, without going, the stilling of proliferation, the auspicious.
Where it sits
This is a nāstika (नास्तिक) book. The Veda is not its pramāṇa (प्रमाण). Chapter 1 will examine pratyaya (प्रत्यय), conditions, and say that nothing arises from itself, from another, from both, or from neither. Chapter 24, verse 18, will say that this dependent arising is śūnyatā (शून्यता).
Split: anirodham (अनिरोधम्) + anutpādam (अनुत्पादम्) + anucchedam (अनुच्छेदम्) + aśāśvatam (अशाश्वतम्) + anekārtham (अनेकार्थम्) + anānārtham (अनानार्थम्) + anāgamam (अनागमम्) + anirgamam (अनिर्गमम्) + yaḥ (यः) + pratītya-samutpādam (प्रतीत्य-समुत्पादम्) + prapañca-upaśamam (प्रपञ्च-उपशमम्) + śivam (शिवम्) + deśayāmāsa (देशयामास) + saṃbuddhaḥ (संबुद्धः) + tam (तम्) + vande (वन्दे) + vadatām (वदताम्) + varam (वरम्)

The phrases
Eight a- (अ-) words describe pratītyasamutpāda (प्रतीत्यसमुत्पाद), the thing taught. They are the eight ways it is not to be frozen. yaḥ (यः) is the Buddha. tam vande (तम् वन्दे) is the homage.
This electronic file begins at 1.1. The homage is the one the commentaries recite before the examination of conditions. It is taught here so the book does not start in the middle.
Sanskrit in this line
The eight a- (अ-) compounds are accusative, agreeing with pratītyasamutpādam (प्रतीत्यसमुत्पादम्), the object of deśayāmāsa (देशयामास). vande (वन्दे) takes tam (तम्) as its object.
Say it back
Say the eight negations, then say what they describe.
